2012 Happy Canyon Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon

$45.00

Description:

Harvest; 10/22 and 11/4, this prolific year yielded 7500 lbs or 3.5 tons of grapes, brix level at harvest was 24.5 and 175 cases were made. The wine was bottled on 7/13/14.

The year produced a prolific amount of grapes of excellent quality. The ideal growing season was characterized by moderate summer with no heat spikes and a long “hang time” for the grapes (late October and early November). 2012 was the first year of the ongoing California drought, currently into its 5th year (2012-2016), but producing some of the highest quality grapes seen in many years. 2012 was the first year we blended our wine with neighboring sourced HCV Bordeaux varietal grapes (85% Gorham estate Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 3% Cab Franc, 1% of Malbec and Petite Verdot).
